Empowering Prayers

The Lord’s Prayer
“Let your Kingdom come, Let your will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. Matthew 6:10
“Nevertheless, not my will, but yours, be done.” Luke 22:24

Twenty-third Psalm.
Use this chapter when you need something of importance. You know it by heart but read it and get something new from it. This new inspiration brings the result.
The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.  He makes me lie down in green pastures. He leads me beside still waters. He restores my soul. He leads me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life, and I shall dwell in the house of the LORD forever

Ninety-first Psalm.
Read when you feel a sense of danger or apprehension. The note about the 23rd Psalm applies to this one also.
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.  I will say to the LORD, “My refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.” For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler and from the deadly pestilence. He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night, nor the arrow that flies by day, nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness, nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side, ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.  You will only look with your eyes and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the LORD your dwelling place— the Most High, who is my refuge— no evil shall be allowed to befall you, no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways. On their hands they will bear you up, lest you strike your foot against a stone.  You will tread on the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.  “Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him; I will protect him, because he knows my name.  When he calls to me, I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will rescue him and honor him. With long life I will satisfy him and show him my salvation.”

Daniel, Chapter 6.
Read this chapter when your difficulties are actually with you, and seem to be almost immovable.

James, Chapter 1
A course of instruction in itself. James is profound, very practical, and rather personal.

Exodus, Chapter 15:1-21
A song of triumph —of thanksgiving for prayer answered. Thanksgiving is a most powerful form of prayer.
